SONNENPLATZ WELCOMED THE 4444th PROBEWOHNER

In May 2011, the first European passive house village in Großschönau celebrated its fourth birthday and now there was a second jubilee: Sonnenplatz was able to welcome its 4444th guest visitor who tested a passive house in this unique village. The mayor of Großschönau Martin Bruckner welcomed Anton Koczur and his wife Christiane from Groß Siegharts and gave them a little present.
The delight about the successful development of the showcase is a great pleasure for the initiators of the Sonnenplatz project; Sonnenplatz is visited by more than 1000 visitors annually. Martin Bruckner is sure: “We are able to contribute to the dissemination of energy efficient- building, -reconstruction and -living with our efforts. The company neutral consulting of the people who spend some days in our passive houses is very important for us.” The family Koczur spent two nights in the certified house made out of bricks from the company Schiller and they were enthusiastic about the possibility of test-living. They said: “The practical part is always better than the theoretical one.”
The former president of the federal state government and the former mayor of Groß Siegharts Anton Koczur pointed out, that it is very remainable, that a small municipality like Großschönau is able to do such great things. Through the intensive work with the energy-topic, Sonnenplatz works in cooperation with the federal government and does great work for a better future.” He recommends every interested person to test-live a passive house at Sonnenplatz and to get a feeling for energy-efficient living.

SECOND PHI-CERTIFIED PASSIVHOUSE AT SONNENPLATZ

At the opening of the 26th BIOEM the second Passive House Certificate for the Sonnenplatz Großschönau issued by the Passive House Institute in Darmstadt was officially presented. The house Schiller from the company Franz Schiller Schiller GmbH, represented by site manager Karl Hohneder, received this valueable certificate.

The house Schiller now belongs to a small, selected group of approximately 20 certified passive houses in Austria and is entitled to bear the title "Quality Approved Passive House". It is the second certificate for a passive house at Sonnenplatz Großschönau and therefore a further evidence of the existing quality and competence of Sonnenplatz Großschönau. The house O(p)taeder of Modern Building Construction Company Ltd. got the PHI-Certificate already as the first passive house last fall, but was presented also at the BIOEM, represented by the architect Ing Andreas Bamberger.

BUILDING SITE WAS AGAIN OPENED

At the second open day on 16th July the project initiator and Mayor Martin Bruckner presented the status of the construction work of the new research and competence center at the Sonnenplatz Großschönau. As an expert Harald Kitzler of the company Mokesch, that is significantly involved in the construction, answered the questions of the visitors.

THAT WAS THE 26th BIOEM!
